We are truly inspired by the bounty: Asparagus, English peas, morel mushrooms, favas beans. Broccoli is good and all, but thank God we don?t have to eat it unless we?re actually craving it now. And, please, put that parsnip away. This is probably going to surprise you, but you know what we think of when we think of Spring vegetables? Meat. 1. Wow – I never thought about combining meat and vegetables. Are you sure the flavor of the asparagus won’t taint my pork?
Belgian endives make a great addition to a sausage and roquefort salad.

  2. Hey Biggles,
I went to the Berkeley Farmers Market last weekend, but I couldn’t find the Fatted Calf guys. I got there in the afternoon. Do they pack up and leave by then, having sold out all thier sausage supplies? Or did I just miss them somehow?

  3. AWWW MANNNNN !!!
Really? Hmmm, well I know Taylor does tend to sell all his meats and when he does, he leaves. I also know that Kim won’t be working with him anymore, maybe he was bummed out and left.
The Fatted Calf’s stall is on the West End sitting on the South side. He has a huge ass Fatted Calf Sign, so if he was there you would have seen him.

  4. Did anybody here happen to reserve one of the fresh hams for next week? If so, what are your big plans for the little guy?

  5. HEEL yah !!! I knabbed one first off. Taylor had two, I grabbed one. I don’t have any occasion other than, we got a world class ham to share.
I’d invite you and Smelly, but I know how much she hates Richmond. I don’t think she would attend.
