Yesterday was our second meatfest of the year. It was big. It was grand. There was a lot of meat and booze. Yet, there was one thing lacking from the get together. No, it was not more meat. What was missing was a little song about meat and the joy that it brings to everyone who loves it so.
Today, I can right the wrong of yesterday and now provide you with that musical composition to complement your next meat-laden meal. This song is called Meat Cuttin’ Blues, written by Hunter and Jenkins (bless them), and I dedicate it to Dr. Biggles (Happy Birthday), and to Rick, our local butcher.
Youza a good butcher ‘n I like your meat
I know your cuttin’ cain’t be beat
I like it like that
Yes, I like it like that
It’s so good, that’s why I like it like that
I did some cuttin’ for Sister Flo (Oh yeah?)
Now she hang around my market for me to cut some mo’
Oh, she likes it like that
Yeah, she likes it like that
It’s so good, that’s why she likes it like that
I like your cuttin’ ’cause you always smile
You cut a little bit ‘n you talk awhile
You know I like it like that (Yassir)
Yeah, I like it like that
Oh, it’s so good, that’s why I like it like that
My cuttin’ hours is from eight ’til two (Yeah?)
But I’ll cut a lil’ longer, Honey, if you want me to
I like it like that
Yes, I like it like that
It’s so good, that’s why I like it like that
Now, I don’t care how much your meat costs
If I pay double, I ain’t nuthin’ lost
‘Cause I like it like that
Yes, I like it like that
It’s so good, that’s why I like it like that
Now, when I start to cuttin’, I’m a cuttin’ clown (You tellin’ me?)
Oh, my lady cus’mers say I really bring ’em down
Oh, they it like that
Yeah, dey likes it like that
It’s so good, that’s why they likes it like that
I don’t have to go to no other butcher n’ plead
You got all the meat I need
I like it like that
Oh, Baby, I like it like that
It’s so good, that’s why I like it like that
If you want to hear the lyrics sung as opposed to just reading ’em, just ask me to play it for you the next time you come over to chow down, or run out and get yourself your own copy of Raunchy Business: Hot Nuts & Lollipops.
