Yay !! Things are getting back to almost normal. The Saturday morning trip to the Berkeley Farmer’s Market is coming up and I couldn’t possibly be any happier. I made it to one of the Tuesday markets, but it was right before Thanksgiving and couldn’t have possibly been any busier. It’s just too much during the week, at 2pm or so to get out there. On a regular basis anyways.
Anyhoo, looks as though the Fatted C. has some yummy pancetta packages going on along with my favorite, the Guinea Fowl Terrine. Oh, check out those Crepinettes. They’re pork with pistachios, caramelized onions and duck livers. Man, if that isn’t cold weather meat love. Ahhhhh. Go see.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be rich? Mmmm, all the vacations you want, someone to pick up after you, sitting in a grassy field with your watercolors all day, finally getting that tax break you’ve heard so much about. Richness means different things to differnt people.
You know what they say: You can never be too rich or too, uh, well, never mind. We’re thinking about the kind of richness we always think about: The meaty kind. The riches of the larder. In these chilly times, everyone’s larder could use a little beefing (or should we say porking?), up, and we have what you need. C’mon, it’s cold outside. If you haven’t tried our Pork Shoulder Roast yet (or lately), this would be the week, seeing as how it’s, uh, larded, with walnuts, chard and garlic. And if you thought that crepinettes weren’t quite up to the Steve Jobs or Christina Onassis level of richness, you were wrong! This week they have 3 of the Richest Goodies In The Known Universe: caramelized onions, pistachios, and duck liver. Huh. Guess they don’t call it he LARDer for nothing. Stock yours like it’s going out of style.
