Tamale Smeared Mopars in Denver Colorado

This entry submitted by Joe Bob of Denver. Some day I will be able to taste the fabled green chili from Denver, some day.
Each fall there is a mountain bike festival in Fruita, CO. Each year a bunch of bike geeks from Quality in MN come through Denver on their way there. They stop in a Wakeman’s house for a party too. The basic theme is Tamales from La Casita in Denver. Then there’s the Mopars…..besides the bicycles and bike talk is the car thing. Tamales, green chile and cars. Toss in some pierced tattooed borderline sociopaths and you have a great time. Hopefully an annual event now.

Wakeman’s coolest rig is the 1965 Belvedere 2 door post. Black with red interior, roll bar, 440 V8, 435 horsepower, 4 speed Jericho gearbox, 4 wheel disc brakes with a Dana rearend……whew.

whadda we got here? Two empty Tamal wrappers?

MmmMMMm, green chile from Denver. I heared stories about that.

The newest project in the drive way is a sleeper 1952 Plymouth Suburban 2 door wagon. It is gonna get rusty 331 Hemi installed this year maybe.

So overindulge in tamales with green chile, PBR from a keg and some hard liqour……normal Denver party.
Green chile tamales, red pork tamales and tons of green chile from La Casita in NW Denver. Wonderful.
