I’ve debated for several days whether to upload this picture. Not for the obvious either. Sure there is no meat, but I figured I should come clean and let you’all know that I eat other things than meat. One of my latest fads is juicing things. Mostly carrots, celery, apples, tomatoes and ginger. It damn good too. Well, this last week I’ve been adding an entire bunch of spinach to the juice. So far it’s been excellent. But I still don’t think I should have uploaded this one. Why? Cause it just doesn’t LOOK good, not appetizing. Definately not something I could talk you into drinking, that’s fer sure. Bend a close ear here, IT WAS GREAT !!!! Something so good, so tasty and gives you the punch you need to attack an afternoon … it’s great. Go juice.
Yes! Juicin’ stuff is the greatest. But I am lazy, so I just buy a half gallon of carrot juice at Trader joes or somethin. Sometimes I get the carrots n’ greens mix. It looks like used paint thinner, but is sweet & tasty.

Juicers tend to vary A LOT. If you’er a fan of the juice, then you should see if you can’t spend the cash and get a good one. Ebay is filled with them. Look for a Champion. They’re basically a huge electric motor with a juicer attachment. It’d grind your face without hesitating, plus it’ll do whole carrots without having to slice them in half er somethin’. DONE. It does such a good job of juicing that the leftovers are DRY. That’s right, it gets ALL the juice. Literally tears down the cel walls of the fruit or veggie. That right there pal, is what you need.

i use a breville 900 juicer it juice almost everything… i just started experimenting with Pineapple-Spinach juice ittastes great… I couldnt take just straight green jucie anymore…I am trying to get more chloriphyl in my system… Some juicing books say dont mix fruit and veggie but regardless it tastes great …
I used a Blender to mix my carrots and spinach and it comes out find.the trick is use alot of water.
The point of juice is to seperate the juice from the fiber. Cellular fiber is indigestible to the human species which is why you will get more nutrition out of drinking 8oz of carrot juice than eating 1lb of carrots. How long would it take you to eat 1lb of carrots? Do you think your body could handle that much bulk?
Anything in a bottle on a shelf is pasteurized whether its organic or otherwise. While still better than drinking a soda it has nowhere near the level of nutrients of fresh juice. Any enzymes are gone so the digestive aid factor is gone and the vitamin levels are much lower
What is really the greatest part of juicing is that the juice doesnt even have to be “digested” by the body. It is basically pre digested in the cells of the plant and when you juice it and rupture the cells releasing the juices it passes thru your intenstines and is almost immediately absorbed right thru the villi and the body does not exert one iota of energy. That is why you get the energy you rush you mentioned to attack the afternoon…no digestive energy and your pancreas does not have to produce a single digestive enzyme so your insulin levels will stay more consistent and you wont get the crash and burn of solid foods and refined sugars
Juicing is great. I juice spinach,cucumbers,coliflower,celery,kale w/carrots & an apple (the veggies are rotated to continue experiencing a variety. They all taste great. I am working on lowering my cholesterol within two months. Since juicing I have not had any problems with indigestion and much more energy. If you are undecided about juicing I suggest you try it. You will be PLEASENTLY surprised!!

This morning I juiced washed carrots and a little ginger and a small beet. I then added that liquid to my blender and added two cups of prewashed baby spinach. It’s green, very green, but surprisingly sweet. As for the color, I just mentally disallow that I’m drinking something green.
I have also purchased carrot juice in bottles or vegetable juice in bottles but it never tastes as pure and fresh as freshly made juice. Juicing in the mornings [or whenever] (I throw most of the equipment in the dishwasher except the motor) takes about twenty minutes from start to finish. I own a $50 Hamilton Beach juicer.
In time, I want a much better juicer but at least know I know the questions to ask when I buy a better juicer:
1. How noisy is it? [I live in an apartment so that’s a factor]
2. The cost.
3. Does it juice both carrots and wheatgrass, etc?
4. Is it fast and easy to clean up? [If there’s too many parts, no thanks.]
Last night I went to Pizza Hut with a friend and it cost $36 for two. All the while eating there, I was thinking: boy, for this much money I could have purchased lots of lots of fresh vegetables. Oh well, our bellies were full and the bill has been paid.
I’ve been juicing since Christmas. If I fall off the wagon for a week or so, I feel tired and cranky. I honestly believe that if most people would go on a vegetable juice food plan, especially carrots and spinach and ginger and beets, their overall well being would enhance. I also find that to hold the liquid in my mouth for a few seconds and swish it around to mix with my saliva [sorry, that’s kinda gross to read I know] it makes digestion better.
Lately, when I have company, I offer to make a glass of carrot juice for them but they usually prefer a soda or a coffee.

Well, if you’re really in to juicing, I wouldn’t make the price a big deal. You’re going to need something that’ll stand up to regular juicings and I found that the 30 to 50 dollar juicers don’t last much longer than 6 months to a year. The teeth get old, the motor and spindles get wobbly, or they just end up braking.
What you also need to take a look at is how much moisture is left in the mash? Is it dry, or can you squeeze a little more out? I use a Champion juicer and the mash comes out DRY. It’s so powerful and well built that it can break down the cel structures of anything you put in there.
You also want to know whether it will do an entire carrot. Quartering carrots sucks! The Champion is basically a 1/4 hp electric motor with teeth. It’s a badass and I love it!

Do you still juice daily? I bought some hard beets today and another bag of spinach. Before work in the morning, I will have a carrot/spinach/ginger/beet drink.

Naw, only a few times a month do I juice. I have so much on my plate that I can’t think straight. I put more than 500 miles a week on my wagon getting boys to and from school!
I’ve never used the Breville, it looks like a fine machine. Just make sure you get the 900 or 1000 model. If you juice that much, you want something that can perform.
I enjoy the champion because it only has about 4 easy parts to clean. For collecting the mash and the juice, you use your own bowls. Plus my version has no safety features, I like that part. But it looks as though the Breville is a solid performer and you wouldn’t regret your purchase.

I just checked ebay and it’s filthy with them! I don’t know what the ending prices are, but that’s one exceptionally fine machine for very little money. You could get a nice one from 30 years ago that will perform as new, plus you can buy any replacement parts!

I just started juicing, my husband bought me the Breville fountain-plus. I have made lots of mixed fruits they are incredible, but now I want to try the true veggie plan. I had a couple of questions if anyone knows. I justed juiced 1 bag of organic mixed greens (mostly spinich) celery, carrot and mixed it with some organic tomato juice (bottled just to break myself in-kinda v-8 tasting) anyway the entire bag of mixed greens only made about 2 inches of juice in my pitcher- is that normal or am I not getting all there is available. Should I eat the spinch/greens instead?? If anyone knows please let me know – thanks Leah
One more thing – when I have been doing my fruit mixes I have been adding 1 pound of baby carrots-can you safely eat one pound of carrots everyday? I had read somewhere you could overdose on carrot juice but I don’t know how much you would have to drink each day before you had too much vitamin A- I know you can eat a pound of carrots cooked without any problem but I am wondering about pure carrot juice thanks Leah

Truly don’t know about over-dosing on veggie/fruits whole or juiced.
I do know you must be careful about juicing too much, you remove most of the fiber and it’ll get tough getting “food” through you. Eat what you’re normally supposed to injest per day, just juice some of it.
The mixed greens sounds about right, there’s not much to them. Juice some, eat some. Need to get your fiber!
Another reason you don’t want to go too far over-board is that you’ll burn yourself out on juicing, it can happen.

He just drank carrot juice everyday plus to supplemental vitamin A
and he died, but I don’t know how much he was drinking or for how long

Best juicer on earth breville 900. I juice lost of things its great!!
I have been juicing for a while now. I usually do carrots only, but like to add parsely. Brings up the vitamin C and is a great herb. Never feel sugar spike. Helps my allergies, too. Seem to stay steady on the energy level for hrs. after. Rest of the day I low carb.
Ingredients:
1 Huge Handful of Fresh Spinach
4 Med to Large Carrots
3 Celery Stalks (Leaves included!)
Juice and drink down. Remember, if you want to store till later in the day, use an airtight GLASS jar, preferably dark in color to block out light and keep in fridge. Recommended to always drink immediately after juicing but if stored, best if consumed within 12-24 hours although you do lose SOME enzyme activity.
