Slow Fatted Calf News

Here we see lamb crepinettes searing over a mesquite fire.
HA !!! Boy, I’ll bet the staff at Fatted Calf were moving slow on Monday, Tuesday and probably feeling much clearer by Wednesday. That was one heck of a party and getting ready to sell meat this coming Saturday just can’t possibly be something to look forward to. Even so, they will be at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday holding down the fort.
onward …

Hoo boy. Team Fatted Calf is a wee bit tuckered out this week. Ya see, we had a little par-tay, for Friends of Fatted Calf and Assorted Hangers On (hi Steve!) this past Sunday. We don’t want to make you jealous, but we thought you might like to hear a little about how TFC does it up, if you weren’t there. First, take a day that looks like it will never be sunny, and turn on the sun. Take 3 beaches, divide participants between all three, and watch the participants and random spread out goodies somehow find each other to make one fine do. Yes, this does involve transporting live coals and a big ‘ol tray of oysters several hundred yards, but that’s why we invited restaurant people (hi Will!) and brave people (hi Guy!) Take a birthday Boy and Girl (hi Erik, hi Kim!), and some funny paste crowns. Force the birthday kids to wear the crowns. “Hey”, you’re thinking, “what about the Pig?” Oh, there was Pig, baby. Ta ke Salami, Mortadella, Pate, Crepinettes, Sausage Bordelaise, GUMBO! (hi T, hi T!), and mix thoroughly with Booze. (hi Meredith, hi Jan! Okay, hi everyone!) Sprinkle liberally with Good Will, Appreciation on all sides for everyone who has helped TFC through our first wonderful year, and finish with a generous dollop of Anticipation for our next year, and Thanks to everyone for visiting us at the Market every Saturday.
