Review – Torchbearer Sauce #23 Fever Sauce !!!

Man, am I slow or what? It’s been a few months or so since David Lynch of Torchbearer Sauces sent us a load of their new sauces to try and talk about on Meathenge. I set up Ms. Crepinette for a shoot on this last Sunday and knew it was time to grab another jar and see what the deal was. Uh, I grabbed #23 Fever Sauce and it was nearly empty. Aroo?

Yeah, okay so the Fever sauce is pretty much my favorite out of them all. The habanero pepper is WAY down on the list of ingredients, even so it’ll make your mouth whistle up and make you suck cool air. First on the ingredient list are carrots, onions, mandarin oranges, tomato concentrate, etc. The carrots and mandarin oranges come though fine, this tends to compliment many treats. Such as a rabbit terrine, mortadella slices on crackers, HOT DOGS !!! MmMmM, hot dogs. I know Torchbearer has a handful of sauces below this one, even an Every Day Sauce, but this is MY every day sauce. Clearly since the damned thing is nearly empty. I’ll be ordering a few jars soon, just haven’t figured out which ones I’ll be needing. Hopefully you’ll see these on the shelves of your local Whole Foods or related. To sum it all up, #23 Fever Sauce is a good daily hot salsa to add when you’re feeling naughty, the habanero never disapoints.
NOTICE: 10% off of everything…even slaughter and tarnation. That is going on all month..til this time next month actually.

  1. Oh, la la! Mlle. Crepinette, she ees tres décolletage! Alors.
Me, I’m perfectly happy with Sriracha. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have a whole kitchen cabinet dedicated to the salsa collection. (And it’s a different cupboard from the salt collection!)
